OTTAWA, Ontario – One of the best to ever put on the Blue Hen lacrosse uniform is headed back to one of the sport's biggest stages as former University of Delaware standout Curtis Dickson was named to Team Canada for the 2018 FIL World Championships.
This is Dickson's second stint with Team Canada at FIL World Championships, his first trip resulted in taking home the gold medal back in 2014.
Dickson will be a part of the 23-man roster that will represent Canada at next month's championships in Netanya, Israel.
During his time at Delaware, Dickson piled up the most goals in program history (162) and the fourth most points in program history (212).
He helped the Blue Hens reach the 2007 Final Four and ranks among the top-10 in most statistical categories. He was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award in 2010.
The 2018 FIL World Championships will be played from July 12-21 in Netanya, Israel with 46 countries competing for the gold. The U.S. and Canada are the only two countries to ever win the FIL Men's World Championship, with the Canada claiming gold in 1978 in Stockport, England, 2006 in London, Ontario and 2014 in Denver, Colorado.
