DeLuca on Team USA Staff at FIL World Lacrosse Championships

NETANYA, Israel– Any chance to represent your home country is a truly special opportunity.
Head Coach Ben DeLuca of the University of Delaware men's lacrosse team is doing exactly that this week with the Team USA at the FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel.
DeLuca is serving as the Team USA Assistant General Manager at the event that hosts 46 countries, the largest event of its kind to ever take place.
It's the first time since the competition's inception in 1967 that a country outside of the US, Canada, England and Australia has hosted the Championship and signifies the major growth of the sport on the global level. The majority of the games will be played at Wingate Institute, which is part of the main training facility for Israeli Olympians and national teams.
ESPN and ESPN+ will have exclusive United States coverage. Across 10 days of play, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise 14 matchups, with more than 160 games available on ESPN+. For more information, visit the broadcast schedule.

The FIL Men's World Championship dates to 1967, and the United States has brought home the world championship in 1967, 1974, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2010. Canada, the reigning world champions, also won the title in 1978 and 2006.
