NEWARK, Del. – With the new athletic calendar upon us, the University of Delaware athletic department is excited to be a part of a brand-new partnership agreement with IMG College, which includes a 10-year extension that will run through 2027-28 and the installation of a brand new 16x9 center hung videoboard at the Bob Carpenter Center.
In addition to the multimedia rights, sponsorships and licensing for the athletic department, IMG College will increase their representation to include the recreation services, ice arenas and the outdoor pool.
"Our relationship with IMG College has been a significant asset to our department and to have the opportunity to strengthen this partnership shows an even deeper belief from IMG in the future of Delaware athletics," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Services Chrissi Rawak said. "IMG College is a giant in our industry and their knowledge and relationships enhance our overall brand. They've been an incredible partner and we look forward to continuing our successes with them."
Delaware's partnership with IMG dates back to 2010. Since its inception, the IMG partnership has increased sponsorship revenue over 130-percent. It includes IMG College's exclusive representation and management of the Blue Hens IMG Sports Network, in-venue signage and promotions, video board features, corporate hospitality, gameday promotions and digital solutions.
"Our partnership at the University of Delaware continues to grow and evolve in many positive ways," said Tim Pernetti, President, IMG College. "We look forward to continuing this relationship for 10 more years and delivering solutions and revenue generating opportunities in licensing and multimedia rights that will contribute to a greater experience for Blue Hens student-athletes, fans and supporters. "
The new 16x9 center hung scoreboard at the Bob Carpenter Center (BCC) is a huge investment into the gameday atmosphere of the Blue Hens volleyball and basketball teams, as well as the additional programming and entertainment that the BCC sees come through the doors every year.
"Our partnership with IMG College is a tremendously beneficial relationship and we are thrilled at our work together moving forward. Their industry wide knowledge and their relationships with both local and national companies are unmatched. The additional investments into Delaware Athletics are a great indicator of our bright future and we're grateful to IMG for believing that with us," Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development and Revenue Generation Jordan Skolnick said.
IMG will also continue to manage Delaware's licensing through a comprehensive trademark licensing program customized by IMG College Licensing.
