"We had a tough day," head coach Sara Matthews said. "We had some unfortunate circumstances with an injury that we had to alter our lineup but at the end of the day we just need to compete better and longer. We have to stay in sets until the end and be more consistent. We need to bounce back and have a good week leading into conference play."
Â
Junior Bailey Pearlman led the way with eight kills with 18 swings. Junior Cailey Bracken followed closely with seven terminations, while junior Maria Bellinger had five. Senior Brooke Robertson and sophomore Julia Hayes each had three, while senior Abby Skryd and graduate student Sonja Vukosavljevic had two.
Â
Skryd directed the offense with 24 of Delaware's 29 assists tonight. Skyrd also added four digs.
Â
Junior libero Andie Hanus paced the Blue Hens with 15 digs. Bracken was one short of the double-digit mark with nine, and sophomore Maddie Judge matched that total. Skryd's four was equaled by freshman Samantha Davis, while Bellinger and Bracken had three scoops each.
Â
UD recorded six team blocks, with five -including two solo stuffs – coming from Hayes. Pearlman added four assisted blocks to her eight hammers, while Vukosavljevic had the other block assist.
