Team Effort Paces Hens in 78-59 Victory at Hofstra

NEWARK, Del. – The Blue Hens captured their first Colonial Athletic Association victory of the season Friday afternoon with a 78-59 decision over Hofstra at the Mack Sports Complex.
Delaware (6-10, 1-3 CAA) bounced back from three straight games of poor shooting performances to go 30-of-62 (.484) from the field for its second-highest shooting percentage of the season so far.
The Blue Hens received at least two points and one rebound from every player who saw playing time while junior Samone DeFreese led the way with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. DeFreese added eight rebounds in the win.
Graduate student Makeda Nicholas contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists while freshman Jasmine Dickey logged her fourth career double double after finishing the day with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
