No. 11 Delaware Hangs on for 1-0 Victory at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. – The Blue Hens continue to be a second-half team as No. 11 Delaware posted a fourth quarter goal Friday afternoon for the 1-0 victory over Richmond at Crenshaw Field.
Junior Femke Strien registered her career-best and team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 48th minute to give the Hens the win. Classmate Sophie Giezeman assisted on the play as Strien was able to get off the reverse shot from the left side.
Richmond had a penalty corner in the final minute of play, but the Spiders were unable to get a shot off as UD picked up its seventh win of the year.
Redshirt senior Sydney Rhodes collected two saves while posting her fourth shutout of the season for the Blue Hens.
