Allen Named Second Team Preseason All-CAA, Anderson Honorable Mention During CAA Media Day

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen junior Ryan Allen was selected Second Team Preseason All-CAA while fellow guard Kevin Anderson was named honorable mention during the league's Men's Basketball Media Day on Wednesday.
Delaware was picked fifth in the CAA preseason poll, garnering 241 points and two first place votes. Hofstra was selected first, followed by Charleston, Northeastern, James Madison and the Blue Hens.
Allen led Delaware by averaging 16.0 points per game last season, and ranked second on the team with 61 three-pointers made. He reached double figures in all but three of the 22 games in which he appeared, including a career-high 30-point effort in the double overtime win at Towson. Allen added 29 points against James Madison, poured in 26 against Drexel, and scored 23 at Charleston.
Anderson averaged 10.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game a year ago, leading the Blue Hens with 83 assists and tying for the team lead with 33 steals. He ranked seventh in the CAA with 3.8 assists per game and 10th with a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio. Anderson reached double figures in 16 contests, including a career-high 25 points during the overtime win at Saint Peter's.
In addition to Allen and Anderson, seniors Jacob Cushing and Collin Goss also return to the Blue Hens. Additionally, transfers Nate Darling, Justyn Mutts and Dylan Painter are all expected to make major contributions for Delaware.
