Blue & Gold World Series Rosters Announced

The fall split-squad game will be a winner-take-all Nov. 10
NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware baseball program announced rosters for the Blue & Gold Fall World Series, taking place Sunday in a 12-inning contest between teams drafted by upperclassmen.

The home team will be the Gold squad, captained by seniors Kyle Baker and Derek Wakeley. Baker, an outfielder, returns from missing all but one game in 2019 and carries a career average of .331 and led the CAA in batting average in 2018 at .354. Wakeley pitched primarily in the closer role last year with six saves, carrying a 3.91 ERA.

The Blue team was drafted by captains Chris Ludman and Jordan Hutchins. Ludman, a senior right-handed pitcher, started 12 games on the bump a season ago and was second on the team in innings pitched with 77.1. Hutchins, a redshirt junior outfielder, started all 54 games in 2019 and had a team-high l6 doubles and 42 RBIs.

The Blue & Gold World Series is scheduled for an 11 a.m. first pitch at Bob Hannah Stadium on Sunday to wrap up the month-long session.
