RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen sophomore defender Timo Hummrich was named to the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Second Team while junior forward Rex Twum was selected to the CAA All-Rookie Team on Thursday.
Hummrich, a Berlin, Germany native, is tied for fifth in the league with six goals and ranks seventh with 13 points, leading Delaware in both categories. He scored two goals against Pitt and added one vs. Northeastern, UNCW, William & Mary and Drexel. Hummrich, who is a perfect 4 of 4 from the penalty spot this season, also registered an assist against Holy Cross.
Hummrich earns All-CAA honors for the second consecutive year, as he was a first team honoree and the CAA Rookie of the Year in 2018.
Twum, a native of Accra, Ghana, started seven of the first eight matches this year before suffering a season-ending leg injury at Charleston. He ranks second on the Blue Hens with three goals and seven points, while he scored the only goal during UD's 1-0 win over 23rd-ranked West Virginia in the home opener. Twum also found the back of the net against Northeastern, and posted a goal and an assist during the victory over Elon.
Delaware earned the sixth seed in the CAA Tournament, and will take on third-seeded Hofstra on Friday at 1 p.m. in a first round game in Harrisonburg, Va.
