Justyn Mutts Named CAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen sophomore forward Justyn Mutts was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Mutts (Millville, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) averaged 19.0 points and 13.0 rebounds while posting a pair of double-doubles during the Blue Hens' two wins last week.
Mutt scored 16 points, grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and dished out a career-best five assists in Wednesday's 75-61 victory over Stony Brook. He then added 22 points and led Delaware with a career-high 16 rebounds in the 75-56 triumph over Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday.
Mutts shot 14 of 30 (46.7%) from the floor and hit all 10 of his free throws during the week, including an 8 of 8 performance vs. Eastern Shore. His 16 rebounds against the Hawks are the most by a UD player since Marvin King-Davis grabbed 18 against South Florida on Dec. 3, 2015.
Mutts, who has recorded four double-doubles on the year including three straight games, ranks fourth in the CAA with 9.0 rebounds per game and 15th with a 14.1 scoring average. He shared CAA Player of the Week honors with Nathan Knight of William & Mary.
