SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of Delaware men's golf team sits in seventh place while freshman Matt Pulgini is tied for seventh following Saturday's action as the Blue Hens opened their spring season at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor.

Delaware carded team rounds of 294 and 293 on Saturday, ending the day in seventh place out of 18 squads with a 587 score. Austin Peay leads the field with a 578 total, while Jacksonville State and North Dakota State are tied for second at 581.

Pulgini fired a one under par 72-71-143 on the par 72, 7,287-yard course at The Club at Savannah Harbor, ending the day tied for seventh place in the individual standings. Roberto Nieves is tied for 16th place with a two over par 74-72-146, while Jack Melville shot a four over par 72-76-148 to end the day in a tie or 35th place.

Nick Vecellio is tied for 48th place with a six over par 76-74-150, while RJ Wren is tied for 92nd place with an 18 over par 85-77-162.

The final round of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
