ELKTON, Md. – There's no place like home.
Â
The University of Delaware men's tennis team showed that once again on Sunday when it swept back-to-back matches against Johns Hopkins (7-0) and Rider (7-0).Â
Â
"This was an all team effort today and everyone contributed in today's victories," head coach Pablo Montana said. "We will take tomorrow off and work hard this week to continue to improve and work on a few things as we prepare for Fordham and Navy.
Â
With the win, Delaware moved to 8-2 on the year and now has 25 wins in the past two years. That total is more than the previous five years combined (2012-16).
Â
In the opening match of the day, the Blue Hens rolled through doubles and posted straight set victories in all six singles matches. Sophomore Justice Jones provided the clincher with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the #4 spot in the lineup.Â
Â
Delaware followed that up with breezing through the Broncs of Rider, sweeping the doubles courts and yet again posting all straight set victories on the singles courts with Blaise Casslebury providing the clincher at #2.Â
Â
Casselbury, Nathan Benyowitz, Guilherme Valdoleiros and Curran Verma all went a perfect 2-0 in singles action on the day.Â
