Ithiel Horton Earns Fourth CAA Rookie of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman guard Ithiel Horton was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Horton (Vauxhall, N.J./Roselle Catholic) earned his fourth conference rookie of the week honor this season after averaging 21.0 points and 3.5 rebounds during the Blue Hens' final two home games. He finished 15 of 28 (53.6%) from the floor, including 10 of 20 from three-point range.

Horton tied for the team lead with 16 points vs. Northeastern on Thursday, and scored a team-high 26 points against Hofstra on Saturday when he knocked down six three-pointers.

Horton appeared in all 31 regular season games for the Blue Hens this year while making 17 starts, ranking third on the team with 12.5 points per game and hitting a team-best 68 three-pointers.

Delaware has earned the fifth seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament and will take on fourth-seeded William & Mary in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
