Walter Earns CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week Recognition

RICHMOND, Va. – After throwing six no-hit innings of baseball on Saturday night, junior Brandon Walter has been recognized as the Colonial Athletic Association's Co-Pitcher of the Week.
Walter was nearly lights out against Villanova, allowing just one free pass and had to manage only two base runners to pick up his fourth win of the season in Delaware's 5-3 victory.
His no-hitter was interrupted when the lights actually went out in the fourth inning, but Walter worked two more innings and picked up four of his 11 total strikeouts after the hour-long delay.
The New Castle, Delaware native managed four 1-2-3 innings and struck out four consecutive hitters between the fifth and sixth innings.
Elon's Jared Wetherbee threw 8.0 scoreless innings in a 3-0 win over Northeastern on Sunday to earn a share of the honor.
The Blue Hens are back in action Tuesday when they travel to St. Joseph's for a 3 p.m. first pitch before opening up a three-game set at UNCW beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
