Brooke Glanden Named CAA Softball Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman first baseman Brooke Glanden was named the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Glanden (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) batted .313 during the Blue Hens' four games last week, going 5 for 16 with three runs scored, two doubles and two RBI.
Glanden had a hit and scored a run at Villanova last Wednesday, and added an RBI double in Saturday's first game at Charleston. She singled during the second game against the Cougars on Saturday, and went 2 for 3 with a run-scoring double during Sunday's series clinching 4-2 win.
Glanden has appeared in all 47 games while starting 46 during her freshman campaign, ranking second on the team with 11 doubles, six home runs and 28 RBI. She is batting .291 on the year, while her 44 hits and 24 runs scored are both fourth most on the squad.
Glanden, who also was named CAA Rookie of the Week on Mar. 5, earns the Blue Hens' fourth conference rookie of the week honor this season.
