DeLuca Earns Inside Lacrosse All-American Honors

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware Lacrosse is on the rise.
With the most wins since 2011 and back-to-back CAA Tournament appearances, the Blue Hens have achieved success that the program hadn't seen in a while.
That trend continued when junior Matt DeLuca was recognized by Inside Lacrosse on its All-American squads. The accolade is the first All-American honor earned by a Blue Hen since 2011. He is the 34thplayer in program history to earn All-American status.
The Farmingdale, N.Y. native put together one of the finest seasons by a goalie in program history, racking up 204 saves, the eighth-most in a single-season by a Blue Hen. He ranked in the top-10 in the country in saves per game (13.6).
It's the highest average by a Blue Hen since Chris Burdick in 1991 (15.8).
DeLuca is now just the eighth player in school history to rack up over 500 career saves and sits in the top-10 all-time in goalie minutes played.
