Blue Hens Jump to No. 9 in NFHCA Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. – Following a 4-0 start to the year, Delaware moved up seven spots to No. 9 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll.

The Blue Hens collected 659 points to make the biggest jump from No. 16 in the preseason poll to week one's slot.

UD posted wins over then-No. 22 Albany, Miami, American and then-No. 9 Penn State to open the season.

Delaware returns to the Top 10 after holding the ninth spot in the 2018 preseason poll. The Blue Hens ranked in the Top 10 for the majority of the 2017 campaign.

North Carolina remained in the top spot points while Duke and Connecticut moved into second and third, respectively, and Maryland and Princeton rounded out the top five.

The Blue Hens face their first road challenge of the season by traveling to No. 21 Rutgers for a 4 p.m. contest Friday in Piscataway, N.J.
