Bellinger has 22 kills and 11 digs in the loss

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Delaware volleyball team had its eight-match winning streak come to an end in four sets Friday evening at Nevin Field House to the hands of La Salle in four sets (14-25, 18-25, 25-17, 11-25) in its first match of the Villanova Classic.

Senior Maria Bellinger recorded the 23^rd double-double of her career with 22 kills and 11 digs, hitting .312 in the match. Classmate Andie Hanus was her usual self with 16 digs and Bailey Pearlman added seven kills with two aces.

After a sluggish start, the Blue Hens came alive in the third set and opened it up with a 6-1 run. Bellinger had eight kills in the third and Pearlman had four.

La Salle was efficient, hitting .376 on the evening, led by Catherine Edgington's 16-0-24 performance.

It will be a quick turnaround as the Blue Hens will play the finale of the Villanova Classic, taking on the Wildcats Saturday night at 7 p.m.
