Attention turns to CAA play, starting Friday at the Bob Carpenter Center

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Delaware volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Villanova Saturday night in the finale of the Villanova Classic to close out the non-conference schedule and finish with the best record entering conference play since 2015.

The Blue Hens just could not find a rhythm against the Wildcats on their home floor, as Delaware hit for its lowest percentage of the season. Freshman Lani Mason was the bright spot with nine kills and seven digs.

Senior Maria Bellinger added seven kills and classmate Andie Hanus had 14 digs.

It will have to be a short memory for the Blue Hens, who open conference play next weekend when they host Towson Friday night, UNCW Saturday, and College of Charleston Monday.
