Mirams in Third Place, Blue Hens Sixth After First Day of Wildcat Fall Invitational

MALVERN, Pa. – Delaware freshman William Mirams is tied for third place at five under par following Monday's opening two rounds of the Wildcat Fall Invitational.
Mirams, playing as an individual, carded a three under par 68 and a two under par 69 on the par 71, 6,717-yard White Manor Country Club course, firing six birdies during his opening round and adding a pair of eagles during his second.
Christian Cavaliere of Boston College leads the field at nine under par, Brandon Gillis of Rhode Island is second at six under par, and Mirams and Jake Lane of Appalachian State are tied for third at five under.
Roberto Nieves is tied for ninth place at the tournament with an even par 73-69-142, while Jack Melville shot a seven over par 78-71-149 to end the day tied for 30th place. RJ Wren is tied for 32nd place with an eight over par 75-75-150, while Matt Pulgini is tied for 37th place with an 11 over par 75-78-153.
Michal Bargenda carded a 12 over par 77-77-154 to finish the day in a tie for 39th place while Hugo Kedzlie, playing as an individual, sits in 41st place with a 13 over par 78-77-155.
Delaware fired team rounds of 300 and 292 on Monday to end the day in sixth place out of seven squads with a 592 total. Rhode Island leads the way at 559, while Appalachian State is three shots back.
The final round of the invitational will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
