Nate Darling Named CAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen junior guard Nate Darling was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after he helped lead Delaware to a pair of important road victories over the weekend.
Darling averaged 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while hitting six three-pointers as the Blue Hens edged Hofstra, 73-71, on Thursday and came back to defeat Northeastern, 76-74, on Saturday.
He scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out a team-leading five assists in Thursday's win over Hofstra, before exploding for 34 points against the Huskies.
Darling finished 11 of 19 from the field and 9 of 11 from the foul line vs. Northeastern, and scored 28 of his 34 points in the second half. He scored 17 of UD's 28 points over the final nine minutes while fueling the Blue Hens' comeback from a 15-point deficit.
Darling, who earned CAA Player of the Week honors for the second time this year, currently ranks fourth in the CAA with 19.7 points per game and is second with 64 three-pointers made.
Delaware, which has won three straight games, returns home Saturday to host Drexel at 2 p.m.
