James Wilkinson Tabbed CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware continues to gain recognition from the Colonial Athletic Association as James Wilkinson was named Wednesday as the league's Player of the Week.

The sophomore helped guide the Blue Hens to their first conference win since 2013 and first triumph over James Madison since 2009 with Sunday's 4-3 victory against the Dukes.

Wilkinson registered a 6-2, 6-4 win versus JMU's Paul Mendoza in top-flight play to improve to 6-1 in dual match action this season. The win also marked the 20^th of Wilkinson's career.

Delaware upped its team record to 8-1, which is its best start since posting the same record during the 1994-95 campaign.

The Blue Hens return to the courts for a busy weekend by hosting CAA foe Hofstra at noon Friday at the Delcastle Tennis Center before traveling to Monmouth for a 4 p.m. match on Saturday. Delaware wraps the weekend by welcoming Yeshiva (noon) and Rider (4 p.m.) to Elkton Indoor Tennis on Sunday.
