Hens Win Ninth Straight by Defeating Hofstra, 4-1

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Blue Hens continued their blazing start to the season Friday afternoon with their 4-1 win over Hofstra at the Delcastle Tennis Center.
With the victory, Delaware has won nine straight matches and is off to its best start in program history since going 10-0 to open the 1991-92 campaign.
The Hens kicked off play by winning the team doubles point.
Nathan Benyowitz and Luis Molina paired for the No. 3 doubles win before James Wilkinson and Liam Hedlund battled to clinch the point in No. 1 doubles.
Wilkinson gave the Hens the 2-0 advantage by cruising to his fourth straight win in top-flight singles, the 10th of the season for the sophomore.
Molina followed with his team-leading 14th victory of the year in No. 2 singles.
Hedlund sealed the win in No. 5 singles for his sixth straight victory.
UD last defeated Hofstra on April 4, 2013 and last picked up two Colonial Athletic Association victories during the 2011-12 season.
