Delaware Sweeps Yeshiva and Rider for Best Start in 38 Years

ELKTON, Md. – The Blue Hens cruised to 7-0 victories over both Yeshiva and Rider Sunday afternoon at Elkton Indoor Tennis.
The wins marked the 11th and 12th straight for Delaware, which is the most for the Blue Hens since the 1981-82 season where UD won 13 straight and finished the year with a 14-1 record.
Delaware opened the day by posting the 7-0 victory over the Maccabees.
Curran Verma and Bryan Paliska collected the first doubles win of the day in the third flight before Nathan Benyowitz and Milo Nagle captured the team point in the top spot.
Paliska clinched the team victory in No. 1 singles while Nagle, Luis Marcano, Verma, Benyowitz and Dominick Perez also picked up singles wins against Yeshiva.
The Hens didn't take the foot off the pedal versus Rider. Verma and Marcano paired for the first doubles win over the Broncs while Benyowitz and Nagle once again clinched the team point to give Delaware the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
Liam Hedlund gave the Blue Hens their 12th straight win with his No. 2 singles victory. Justice Jones, Nagle, Marcano, Verma and Perez also added to the win column for Delaware.
