Blue Hens Announce Incoming Class of 2020

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware field hockey head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof announced Friday the addition of nine incoming student-athletes for the 2020 campaign.
"Our program is looking forward to the arrival of a great group of Blue Hens this fall," remarked Van de Kerkhof. "Our incoming freshmen are all quality people, passionate and talented student-athletes, excited to further develop themselves through competitive academics and athletics and contribute to others in our team setting. All of them have the following personalities and qualities: intense desire to compete and being the best they can be; an understanding of team work and play, and commitment to creating opportunities for themselves through experiences, finding ways, being creative and seeing things through."
Incoming student-athletes include Berber Bakermans (Best, The Netherlands/Heerbeeck College/HC Eindhoven), Martina Carrazzoni (Concordia, Entre Ríos, Argentina/San Antonio/Club Hipico Concordia), Julia Duffhuis (Bergeijk, The Netherlands/SG WereDi/Oranje-Rood), Emma Gladstein (Sykesville, Md./Marriotts Ridge/Nook Hockey), Kathryn Hoffman (Ellicott City, Md./Glenelg/Alpha), Quinn Kindbom (Clarksville, Md./River Hill/Alpha), Riley McDonald (Easton, Pa./Easton Area/WC Eagles), Adison Moore (Centreville, Va./Westfield/Rampage) and Eve Vickery (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior/Freedom HKY).
Van de Kerkhof continued, "We had great official visits weekend with them, their parents, our current student-athletes and the coaching and support staff. It is clear our incomings blend in nicely, connected very well with our on-campus Blue Hens and all are looking forward to the next chapter in their lives as contributing University of Delaware field hockey student-athletes."
