Dickey's Career Game Leads Delaware Past Hofstra, 76-55

Junior guard Jasmine Dickey drops a career-high 37 points on 15-of-26 shooting
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Junior guard Jasmine Dickey scored a career-high 37 points to lead Delaware women's basketball past Hofstra 76-55, its fifth straight Colonial Athletic Association win, inside the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex Saturday afternoon.
Dickey shot 57.7% from the floor, knocking down a career-high 15 field goals on 26 attempts. She also connected on three of her six shots from 3-point range, matching her career total for threes entering the game. The Baltimore native's 37 points tied for the 10th most in a single game in program history.
She also grabbed 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season and 21st of her career. Dickey has scored in double figures in 11 straight games, including all nine this season, scored 20+ in seven games this year, and 30+ three times.
The Blue Hens remain atop the CAA standings with an 8-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark in CAA play. The Pride fell to 4-7 and 2-3 in the conference.
Senior forward Lizzie Oleary tied her career high with 14 points, knocking down all eight of her free throw attempts, also a career high.
Redshirt junior forward Ty Battle was a point shy of her eighth double-double of the year, racking up nine points, 10 rebounds and a career-high five steals.
Delaware opened the game on a 13-2 run and held a 36-24 halftime lead behind 22 first-half points from Dickey. Hofstra cut the Blue Hens lead to just three in the third quarter, but Delaware outscored the Pride 30-14 in the fourth. The Hens used a 10-0 run midway through the final period to put the game out of reach at 68-51, capped by a three-pointer by junior guard Jewel Smalls, who finished with nine points.
Delaware and Hofstra play the back half of the series tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m.
