NEWARK, Del. – Delaware received big performances from its three senior starters as the Blue Hens completed a weekend sweep of Elon with a 75-70 win Sunday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Ryan Allen led the way with a season-high 26 points including four three-pointers, while Dylan Painter notched his seventh double-double of the year with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Anderson contributed 13 points on the day, while freshman Andrew Carr was the fourth Blue Hen in double figures with 12 points.
Hunter McIntosh paced Elon with 30 points and seven assists, while Federico Poser and Hunter Woods each added 12 points.
The teams were knotted at 21-21 with six minutes left in the first half, but Delaware closed the period with a 13-4 spurt to head into the break with a 34-25 cushion.
The Blue Hens then opened the second half with a 13-5 run, going in front 47-30 on an Ebby Asamoah three-pointer with 15:29 to play. The advantage eventually grew to 20, as Anderson knocked down a triple to make it a 60-40 game at the 9:19 mark.
Elon continued to battle and got within four in the final seconds, before a free throw by Carr closed the scoring.

"It's nice to see our older guys really play well together, I was waiting for an afternoon like that. I think our chemistry and synergy on the offensive end is coming along. We had inside-outside balance, which really helped us. Ryan got going early, and hopefully that can jumpstart him as we head into February. Ryan is an older guy who's got a lot on his shoulders; today we were able to get him some opportunities in areas where he could be successful."
