Delaware Finishes Patriot Invite in First Place

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Delaware women's swimming and diving team capped off the Patriot Invite in first place with 814 points with six top-five finishes on the last day of competition.Â
"Amazing job from our Blue Hens this weekend," said head coach Pablo Marmolejo. "They fought extremely hard under some very difficult circumstances."
Charlise Oberholzer started off the day placing 10th in the 1650 Free with a time of 17:41.79.
In the 200 Back Natalie Dobrzykowski took fourth in 2:01.02 in the A Final. Cristin Earley placed 10th in the B Final with a time of 2:01.70.Â
Mira Selling was the second swimmer to hit the wall in the 100 Free in 50.36, her fastest time so far this season. Dobrzykowski placed fifth in the A Final with Selling, completing the event in 51.14. In the B Final, Nicole Chiappa (51.81) placed 11th and Anthi Lyra (51.87) followed placing 12th.
In the 200 Breaststroke, Taylor Dragonosky (2:20.19) placed fifth, Jenna Leonard (2:20.23) placed sixth, and Erin Lillis (2:20.59) placed seventh. Andromachi Tasakou (2:20.41) placed ninth in the B Final.Â
Julia Cichowska had a time of 2:02.09 in the 200 Fly, good for fifth place in the A Final. In the B Final, Aislinn Mitchell placed ninth in 2:05.10.Â
The 400 Free Relay team of Chiappa, Lyra, Dobrzykowski and Selling placed third with a time of 3:23.30, closing out the Patriot Invite.Â
"They pushed through three days of heavy competition and had one of the most successful invites as a team. This sets us up for the next training block leading toward CAA's and the back half of our season."
The Blue Hens now look to their mid-season break where they will travel to Florida for their winter training trip before returning to competition Jan. 8, 2022, in Philadelphia for a meet at Drexel.Â
