Ryan Allen Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware guard Ryan Allen was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday following his performance in the Blue Hens' home-opening win over La Salle.

Allen scored a career-high 35 points during Wednesday's 85-82 overtime victory, finishing 11 of 17 from the field, knocking down five three-pointers and going 8 of 12 from the foul line. His free throw in the final seconds of regulation forced the overtime session.

Allen also added four rebounds, two steals and an assist while playing 43 minutes on the night. He has now scored exactly 1,500 career points and has made 250 three-pointers for his career.

Allen and the Blue Hens open the Gulf Coast Showcase tonight against Appalachian State at 7:30 p.m. in Estero, Fla.
