Blue Hens Split a Pair of Matches Friday

NEWARK, N.J. – The University of Delaware women's tennis team closed out the fall portion of its schedule on Friday, splitting a pair of dual matches against Southeastern Louisiana and NJIT. The Blue Hens defeated SLU 6-1, before dropping a 6-1 decision to the NJIT at the Highlanders' Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The day started against the Lions when the doubles duos of Julieta Honrubia and Dominika Sujova and Isabella Montana and Samantha Svendsen won at the second and third positions to clinch the doubles point for the Blue Hens. Delaware would go on to easily clinch the match, 6-1, by winning five of the six singles matches.
In the evening match against the Highlanders, Svendsen and Viva Laas were victorious in doubles, but it was not enough to take the point. In singles, Sujova was the only Blue Hen to register a win as Delaware fell 6-1.
