Newark, Del. - University of Delaware's interim director of tennis Pablo Montana announced the addition of Noah Sprinkel to the Men's Tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach.
"I am so excited for Noah to be joining our program and I know he will hit the ground running," stated Montana. "He has a strong playing background as an All-American tennis player in college, and his coaching experience is also very impressive as he helped coach Wake Forest to the finals of the 2019 NCAA Championship. I have no doubt he will have an immediate impact with our program and I am confident he will be a strong leader for our guys".
Sprinkel joins the Blue Hens after spending the summer of 2019 as an international scout for Texas Tech. Prior to that summer he spent the 2018-2019 tennis season working as a volunteer assistant coach for Wake Forest. His team finished 34-4 overall and 12-0 in conference play en route to its second consecutive ACC title. The program featured three All-Americans, as well as three all-conference performers. Additionally, the Demon Deacons finished in second place at the 2019 ITA Indoor National Championships.
A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Sprinkel was a standout player for Coe College, where he captured three straight Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference MVP honors and earned ITA singles All-America honors in 2015. He notched 12 IIAC Player of the Week honors, and participated in the NCAA National Singles Championships all three years from 2013-15. Sprinkel also earned an ITA Central Regional Senior Player of the Year nod in 2015.
His 79 career singles wins currently rank 10th all-time at Coe, while his 91 career doubles wins are fourth in program history. Sprinkel graduated with his bachelor's degree in sport management from Coe in 2014.
