Blue Hens Take Home Weekend Split with Northeastern

Delaware goes 1-1 on the weekend
BOSTON – The University of Delaware volleyball will have to settle with a split this weekend after dropping Sunday's matchup with Northeastern in straight sets (23-25, 15-25, 16-25) at the Cabot Center.

The Blue Hens were coming off a comeback victory from Saturday and fought hard from the start, battling back again in the first set after falling behind, 20-15. They outscored the Huskies 8-5 down the stretch in the first, but found themselves in a one-set deficit for the second day in-a-row.

Northeastern hit .240 on the afternoon and held Delaware to just a .051 hitting percentage to take the match in straight sets.
Â
Freshman Savannah Seemans led the way with seven kills, 11 digs and three blocks while sophomore Lauryn Richardson added six putaways and a pair of blocks.

Freshman Lily Rogers had another productive outing with five kills, 15 assists and three blocks to go along with redshirt junior Katie Turner's 14 digs.

Delaware returns home to host Hofstra in a two-match series next weekend, starting Friday at 5 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center.
