Blue Hens Play Drexel to 2-2 Draw in Sunday Rivalry

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team jumped out to a two-goal lead Sunday night at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium, but ultimately settled for a 2-2 draw with rival Drexel.Â
Freshman Justin Ruth scored the first two goals of his collegiate career, getting out into transition and making a move at the top of the box for his first. The next came in the 36th minute when a perfect pass ahead from freshman Zach Golden set him up for his second of the night.Â
The Dragons came out of the half time break to control the majority of possession and ultimately send the game to overtime. Junior Renan Thomazo made three saves on the night and the Blue Hens defense locked down, allowing no shots on goal in the extra session.Â
CAA play continues for Delaware, traveling to Hofstra Friday for a 5 p.m. kickoff in Hempstead, N.Y.Â
