Etxezarreta, Blue Hens Lead After First Day of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Delaware freshman Oihana Etxezarreta leads all individuals while the Blue Hen women's golf squad sits atop the team standings following the first day of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
Etxezarreta carded a five over par 75-74-149 on the par 72, 6,057-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort on Monday, and carries a three-shot lead into Tuesday's final round. She recorded three birdies during both of her rounds during the day. Natalie Welsh of Radford is second at eight over par, while four golfers sit at nine over.
Christina Carroll fired a 10 over par 77-77-154 to finish the day in seventh place, while Lexi Dart is tied for eighth place with an 11 over par 78-77-155. Liz Coffren is tied for 17th place with a 15 over par 81-78-159, while Siena Ferrick is 46th with a 27 over par 83-88-171.
Playing as individuals, Anna Kittelson carded a 17 over par 81-80-161 to end the day in a tie for 22nd place while Lene Sperling shot a 22 over par 87-79-166 and is tied for 32nd place.
Delaware posted team rounds of 311 and 306 during Monday's play, leading the 12-team field with a 617 total. Richmond sits in second place at 620, while Longwood is third with a 626 score.
