Duvall Wins Gold, Sets School Record at Day One of CAA Championship

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Senior Audrey Duvall highlighted the opening day of the 2021 CAA Women's Swimming Championships, winning the 200-yard IM and setting the program record with a time of 2:01.29 Monday night at Christiansburg Aquatic Center with the Blue Hens sitting in fourth place after day one of the championship.

Sophomore Mira Selling took home the bronze for the second straight year in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.45 and freshman Nicole Chiappa swam to a time of 23.52 in the 50-yard freestyle, good for fourth fastest in program history.

Freshman Julia Chichowska reached the "B" final of the 200-yard IM along with senior Catherine Erwin and freshman Aislinn Mitchell.

Delaware also featured two of its relay teams in the championships with Ciappa, Allison Gozdan, Jenna Leonard, and Natalie Dobrzykowski representing the 200-yard freestyle relay. Mitchell, Duvall, Julia Chichowska and Mira Selling teamed up in the 400-yard medley relay for a fourth-place finish.

The championship continues Tuesday as preliminary swims begin at 12:10 p.m. and finals commencing at 7:25 p.m.
