Etxezarreta Fires 66 To Earn Medalist Honors, Blue Hens Win Team Title at Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Blue Hen freshman Oihana Etxezarreta fired a six under par 66 to easily win medalist honors while the Delaware women's golf team also captured the team title on Tuesday at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
Etxezarreta carded a sizzling 66 on the par 72, 6,057-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort to post an incredible 11-shot victory with a one under par 75-74-66-215. Her final round, the second lowest round in program history, featured six birdies and an eagle on the 18th hole.
Etxezarreta, who posted rounds of 75 and 74 on Monday, finished with a one under par 215, tied for the eighth lowest three-round score in UD history. She becomes the eighth Blue Hen, and the first freshman, to win medalist accolades at a tournament.
The Blue Hens recorded a 295 team score during Tuesday's round, the lowest round by any squad at the invitational, to easily claim the team title. Delaware finished with a three-round score of 912, winning its first team crown since the 2017 CAA Championship, finishing 11 shots ahead of second place Richmond.
In addition to Etxezarreta, Lexi Dart tied for fifth place with a 12 over par 78-77-73-228 while Christina Carroll finished 10th with a 15 over par 77-77-77-231.
Anna Kittelson, playing as an individual, fired an even par 72 on Tuesday and placed 11th with a 17 over par 81-80-72-233. Liz Coffren tied for 27th place with a 27 over par 81-78-84-243 while Lene Sperling, playing as an individual, tied for 30th place with a 29 over par 87-79-79-245. Siena Ferrick carded a 34 over par 83-88-79-250 to finish in a tie for 37th place.
