Two Golds Highlight Day Two of CAA Women’s Swimming Championships

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Sophomore Mira Selling won the gold and set the school record in the 200-yard freestyle and senior Audrey Duvall won her second gold in as many nights in the 400-yard IM to help put the University of Delaware women's swimming team in fourth place at the CAA Championships.
After being first to the wall and setting the school record Monday night in the 200 IM, Duvall swam to a time of 4:18.98 in the 400-yard IM Tuesday night. Selling was first to the wall in 1:47.29 to set the school record in the 200-yard freestyle.
Freshman Julia Cichowska reached the podium in the 100-yard butterfly, placing third with a time of 54.73. Freshman Nicole Chiappa was also in the 200-yard freestyle and placed seventh in 1:51.57.
Sophomore Natalie Dobrzykowski reached the "B" final in the 200-yard freestyle and reached the wall in 1:51.44.
The Blue Hens' 800-yard freestyle relay team of Duvall, Selling, sophomore Natalie Dobrzykowski and Chiappa initially placed second with a time of 7:25.44, but the race is officially under review by officials.
Senior Catherine Erwin also advanced to the 400-yard IM final, finishing in seventh with a time of 4:27.67 while sophomore Rainna Tomlin swam to a time of 4:29.46 in the "B" Finals along with freshman Charlise Oberholzer, clocking in at 4:30.69. Sophomore Marietta Gately swam the "B" final to a time of 4:36.35.
Junior Taylor Draganosky was a finalist in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.66 along with sophomore Erin Lillis who timed in a 1:05.55. Sophomore Jenna Leonard swam in the "B" final in 1:04.66.
Freshman Aislinn Mitchell reached the "B" final of the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 56.36 and junior Allison Gozdan was close behind with a time of 56.85.
Rounding out the night was junior Kayla Borrero who swam the "B" final of the 100-yard backstroke in 57.22.
The CAA Women's swimming championship comes to a close Wednesday night with preliminaries beginning at 11:10 a.m.
