Cross Country: Two Blue Hens Receive All-CAA Honors

Winnabow, N.C. – The Blue Hens cross country team wrapped up the 2020-2021 season on Friday morning at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, scoring 109 points to finish fifth overall, with two runners in the top ten.

Sophomore Tina Capparell was the highest individual finisher for the Blue Hens in fifth place with a time of 20:14.50. Jessica Pidgeon rounded out the top ten with a finishing time of 20:30.10. Capparell and Pidgeon were both awarded All-CAA Honors.
Elon won the team title for the second year in a row with 35 points, while Northeastern finished second (86 points) just in front of James Madison (90). William & Mary finished fourth with 101 points, just ahead of the Blue Hens in fifth, followed by College of Charleston (124), Hofstra (163), and UNCW (222) rounded out the field.

Both of them have made huge improvements throughout their Delaware careers and are great examples of commitment and dedication. Given the circumstances of this year, and this being our only cross country race of the year, we'll chalk this up as a learning experience.
