Delaware Women’s Golfers Finish Ninth at UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Delaware women's golf team finished in ninth place out of 17 squads this week at the UNF Collegiate.
After posting rounds of 308 and 306 on Monday, the Blue Hens fired a 310 on Tuesday to finish with a 924 total. Tournament host North Florida captured the team title with an 878 score, while Sam Houston State finished in second place 10 shots back.
Christina Carroll and Lexi Dart both carded a 10 over par 75-76-75-226 on the par 72, 5,926-yard Jacksonville Golf and Country Club course to finish in a tie for 22nd place among individuals.
Oihana Etxezarreta tied for 47th place at the invitational with a 17 over par 79-75-79-233, while Anna Kittelson tied for 70th place with a 23 over par 79-79-81-239. Lene Sperling finished in 90th place after carding a 38 over par 85-84-85-254.
Hanna Alberto of Sam Houston State earned medalist honors by finishing at two under par to post a three-shot victory.
The Blue Hens return to the course on March 22-23 when they compete at the Pinetree Invitational in Kennesaw, Ga.
