Blue Hens, Nieves Finish Sixth at CAA Men's Golf Championship

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Delaware men's golf team finished in sixth place as the Blue Hens concluded their 2021 spring season this week at the CAA Championship.
Delaware carded a 296 team score during the tournament's final round on Tuesday, finishing sixth out of eight squads with an 893 three-round total. College of Charleston easily captured the conference title and earned an NCAA bid by posting an 834 score, while Drexel was second at 857.
Roberto Nieves fired an even par 72 during Tuesday's round on the par 72, 6,787-yard Cotton Dike Course at Dataw Island Club, as he finished sixth among individuals with a two under par 72-70-72-214. Nieves birdied the third and 12th holes on Tuesday while adding 15 pars on the day.
Hugo Kedzlie also carded a 72 during his final round and tied for seventh place in the standings with a one under par 73-70-72-215. Kedzlie birdied four of five holes from 9 through 14, to go with 10 pars.
RJ Wren tied for 29th place with a 14 over par 79-77-74-230, while Owen Manchester finished 32nd with an 18 over par 80-76-78-234. Elliot Haas placed 40th with a 45 over par 83-88-90-261.
Zach Reuland of Charleston was the tournament medalist as he posted a five-shot victory by finishing at 13 under par.
