Delaware Men’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team will open its 2021-22 season at Davidson and plays its home opener against La Salle as the Blue Hens announced their non-conference schedule on Monday.
Delaware has announced a 12-game non-league slate, with an additional game to be added at a later date. Along with the 18-game Colonial Athletic Association schedule announced in July, the Blue Hens will play a minimum of 14 home games at the Bob Carpenter Center this season.
UD kicks off the campaign on Nov. 9 with a game at Atlantic 10 foe Davidson, and remains on the road to face Siena four days later. The home opener features another Atlantic 10 opponent in La Salle, as the Explorers visit the BCC on Nov. 17.
The Blue Hens then head to Estero, Fla. for three games in the Gulf Coast Showcase, beginning with a first-round matchup against Appalachian State on Nov. 22.
Delaware closes the month with a home game against LIU on Nov. 30, before making the short trip to Delaware State on Dec. 2. The Blue Hens then play three consecutive home games, welcoming UMBC (Dec. 5), Lafayette (Dec. 8) and Moravian (Dec. 10) to Newark. The non-conference slate concludes with an intriguing matchup against Iona on Dec. 21 in the brand new UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y.
Delaware, led by sixth-year head coach Martin Ingelsby, returns its entire roster from last season's team for the highly-anticipated 2021-22 campaign. Dylan Painter, a first team All-CAA selection in March, returns to anchor the UD frontcourt while fifth-year senior guards Kevin Anderson and Ryan Allen are also back on the perimeter.
