Delaware Drops CAA Opener at Elon, 1-0

ELON, N.C. – Elon's Jeppe Jordoson scored the only goal of the match in the 54th minute as the Phoenix edged Delaware, 1-0, Saturday night at Rudd Field in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.
Early in the second half Jordoson took a pass from Christian Lauenborg and fired a shot into the top left corner of the goal for the game's lone marker.
Elon held a 9-7 shot advantage over the Blue Hens, while each team took seven corner kicks.
Tiago Santos took a match-high four shots on the night, while Orri Thorhallsson added a pair of his own. Gonzalo Bartoli made three saves in the Delaware goal.
The Blue Hens return to action on Tuesday when they head to American for a 3 p.m. match with the Eagles.
