Etxezarreta Ties UD Single Round Record on First Day of Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Oihana Etxezarreta tied the UD single round record by carding a seven under par 65 during the opening round as the Blue Hen women's golf team opened its 2021 fall season on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
Etxezarreta fired six birdies and added an eagle on the sixth hole while making just one bogey on the par 72, 6,115-yard PSU White Course, tying the program record of 65 also held by Thitaree Sakulbunpanich at the Edisto Island Invitational on Mar. 31, 2019. Etxezarreta then recorded a 75 during the second round, and is tied for fourth place among individuals with a four under par 140.
Blue Hen freshmen Alisa Khokhlova and Lilia Henkel each had impressive debuts for Delaware, as both players are tied for ninth place with identical even par scores of 73-71-144.
Christina Carroll is tied for 29th place with a four over par 71-77-148, Anna Kittelson is tied for 41st place with a six over par 73-77-150, and Lexi Dart is tied for 61st place with a 10 over par 76-78-154.
Delaware sits in second place out of 14 teams with a two-round total of 576, nine shots behind tournament leader Penn State. The Blue Hens led the invitational following the first round with a 282 score, before firing a 294 during the second round of the day.
The final round of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
