Women's Swimming and Diving Edged by Towson

TOWSON, Md. - The Delaware women's swimming and dive team fell, 164-136, to Towson Saturday afternoon. The Blue Hens compiled 20 top-three finishes on the day.Â
"I'm very proud of how our team finished the season," said head coach Pablo Marmolejo. "It was a very positive and successful dual meet season for both teams. We had a very good meet all around in the pool and the boards, including some great breakout performances along with many in season best times. We walked away with a lot of information to make the right adjustments for our championship meet in a couple of weeks."
Julia Servas got the Blue Hens off to a strong start, placing first in 1-meter diving with a mark of 280.05, a personal record. She then earned a third-place finish in 3-meter competition with a score of 264.53.
Delaware earned a third-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay in the first swimming event of the day. The relay team of Cristin Earley, Marietta Gately, Aislinn Mitchell and Kaitlyn Sullivan completed the event in 1:47.36.Â
Mira Selling had three top-10 program times on the day. She took second place in the 1000 Free (10:20.23), first in the 100 Free (50.87) and first in the 100 Fly (56.22).Â
Natalie Dobrzykowski had two second-place finishes in the 200 Free (1:52.89) and 100 Free (52.20). Lyra had two top-three finishes earning silver in the 500 Free (5:09.39) and bronze in the 200 Free (1:55.11).Â
Freshman Andromachi Tasakou earned two gold medals on the day. Her time of 1:04.50 in the 100 Breast, is a top-10 program time. She also earned gold in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:23.49.Â
Earley and Mitchell each had two top-three finishes as well. Earley placed first in the 100 Back (58.32) and 200 Back (2:05.13), while Mitchell placed second in the 200 Fly (2:08.02) and third in the 100 Fly (57.33).
Three other hens earned top-three finishes in Maryland. Gately earned bronze in the 100 Breast (1:08.42), Sullivan had a third-place finish in the 50 Free (24.38) and senior Taylor Draganosky earned silver in the 200 Breast (2:26.43).
The Blue Hens capped off the day with Dobrzykowski, Lyra, Sullivan and Selling earning gold in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:28.34.Â
The Delaware swimming and diving teams look ahead to the CAA Championships in Christiansburg, Va., starting Feb. 16.Â
