Men's Basketball Signs Eli Larts Through Team Impact

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's basketball is delighted to share the signing of 11-year-old Eli Larts through Team IMPACT, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Wednesday. Eli, who lives with Sickle Cell Disease, will participate in many activities with the men's basketball team over the next two years, including games, practices, and other team events.
The Blue Hens will hold a signing event open to the media with Eli, his mother, and members of the men's basketball program on Wednesday, November 2 at 5 p.m. in the Bob Carpenter Center.
"We are very excited to have Eli join our Blue Hen basketball family," Ingelsby said. "Our players have enjoyed getting to know him over the last few months and we are honored to have him a part of our team this season!"
To date, Larts has already joined the Blue Hens for team mini golf this past summer, while the team has gone out to support him at some of his soccer games.
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country.
