Shema, Pastris Take CAA Women's Swimming And Diving Weekly Honors

NEWARK, Del. - Erin Shema and Alex Pastris of the Delaware women's swimming and diving program both received CAA weekly honors on Nov. 15, 2022 after helping the Blue Hens to a win over Rider and a tie with La Salle on Friday.Â
Shema was named Swimmer of the Week after she captured three individual events and a relay. She took first place in the 100 free with a season-best time of 52.43, the 100 back with a time of 57.18, and the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.88, which is the second-fastest in the CAA this season. She was also a member of the Blue Hens' 400 medley relay team that set a pool record with a time of 3:49.02, which is the second-fastest mark in the conference this season. Shema becomes the third Delaware student-athlete to win Swimmer of the Week, joining Mira Selling and Anthi Lyra.
Pastris was named Diver of the Week for the third consecutive week after finishing second on both boards. She compiled a score of 262.65 in the 3-meter competition and had a score of 243.20 in the 1-meter competition.
Delaware returns to competition this week at the Bison Invitational from Nov. 18-Nov. 20 in Lewisburg, Penn.Â
