New Court Installation Delayed

NEWARK, Del. – The debut of the new court inside the Bob Carpenter Center has been delayed due to construction issues during its original installment, the athletic department announced Sunday.
It was recently discovered that the batch of adhesive used during the construction timeframe of the new floor has failed, deeming the court unsafe to play on.
Currently, screws are being added to each panel to properly secure the floor and ensure a safe playing surface. Issues will be corrected later this month by the installation company with hopes to be completed before the women's basketball game on November 30 against Delaware State.
The current floor inside the Bob Carpenter Center is temporary and provides a safe playing surface for our basketball programs to start the season.
Delaware men's and women's basketball open their seasons this week, with the men tipping off against Wilmington on Monday, November 7 at 7 p.m. and the women hosting Columbia on Wednesday, November 10 at 7 p.m.. Seasons tickets are still available for both programs.
