Duffhuis Earns NFHCA Second Team All-American Recognitions

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Julia Duffhuis of the Delaware field hockey was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American Second Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
"A great honor for Julia to be recognized by the NFHCA coaching community as one of the best players in all of NCAA Division 1," head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof said. "As the season progressed, so did Julia's performance, confidence and impact as an individual and member of our Delaware field hockey team. I know that Julia is excited about being an All American selection, and directly echo to her teammates that they had a lot to do with this recognition."
For the second straight year, the junior makes an appearance on the All-American team. She was named to the second team in 2021.
The Bergeijk, The Netherlands native adds to her growing list of accolades from the 2022 season. She was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Year, CAA All-Conference First Team, CAA All-Tournament team, and the NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team.
Duffhuis played a pivotal role to help the Blue Hens win their fourth straight CAA Tournament Championship. She led the Blue Hens in goals with 14 and added four assists, recorded her first career hat trick against Northeastern in the CAA Semifinals, played a role in two defensive shutouts against VCU (Aug. 26), and Lehigh (Nov. 9), and scored a goal in six of her last seven games.
