Vasquez, Sabev Set National Records At SC World Championships

MELBOURNE, Australia - Miguel Vasquez of Delaware's men's swimming and diving program set two Guatemalan national records, while Toni Sabev, representing Bulgaria, helped set one national record at the SC World Championships this past week. The championships were held at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Australia.

Vasquez set national records in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 25.31 and in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 49.77. He also competed in the 4x50 mixed medley relay, helping his team to a time of 1:50.21.

Sabev helped the Bulgarian 400 medley relay team to a national record time of 3:33.05, and finished with a split of 58.42. He also finished with a time of 58.58 in the 100-meter breaststroke and helped his 4x50 mixed medley relay team to a time 1:41.37, which finished in 13th place out of 31.
