Men’s Tennis Preview: Navy & Penn State

» The Delaware men's tennis will play a couple of tough opponents this weekend when the squad takes on both Navy and Penn State. The Blue Hens will host the Midshipmen on Friday afternoon at Delcastle Tennis Center in a match that starts at 12 p.m. UD will then travel to play the Nittany Lions on Sunday at 2 p.m. in State College, Pa.

» The Blue & Gold split a pair of matches last weekend, sweeping Villanova 7-0 at home before falling 7-0 at VCU. Against the Wildcats, Delaware won all three doubles points before winning four of the six singles matches in straight sets.

» Navy is 7-3 to start the spring season, and has won four of the past five matches. In five of their seven victories, the Midshipmen have cruised to lopsided wins allowing their opponents to just score one point. In the lone match against a common opponent, Navy defeated Youngstown State 4-3, a day after the Blue Hens beat the Penguins 5-2.

» Penn State is currently 4-3 on the spring season and has also won four of the past five matches. The Nittany Lions have defeated Colgate, Cleveland State, Dartmouth and Liberty while falling in dual matches to Old Dominion, Cornell and Princeton.
